2021 Fall By-Election
The RM of Edenwold is sad to announce Councillor Wayne Joyce’s retirement from Council on June 30th, 2021. Councillor Joyce has served 10 years on Council as the representative for Division 3. He helped champion many important municipal programs including waste water and RM community safety. With his retirement, the RM will be holding a by-election for Division 3 to fill this vacancy.
Call for Nominations begins on Thursday, September 9th, 2021 at 9 a.m. and ends on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 at 4 p.m.
Advance Poll: Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
By-Election Day: Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voting will take place at the RM municipal office at 100 Hutchence Road in Emerald Park.
During the advance poll and on election day, protocols for cleaning and physical distancing will be in effect, and municipal staff will ensure these rules are respected at all times. The RM office is large enough for voters to be able to distance. Barriers and floor signs will further ensure safe distances are kept.

About RM elections:
Elections for rural municipalities are held every four years. Monday, November 9th, 2020 was the last provincially set date to elect reeves and councillors in odd-numbered divisions in the RM.
Rural municipalities hold an election for selected divisions every two years (odd-numbered divisions in one election period and then for even-numbered divisions in the following election period). Each council member holds office for a four-year term.
