Here is an update from the Tuesday, July 28 council meeting...

Grid Road 2190  - Council awarded the contract for clay-capping Grid Road 2190 to Torrent Energy Services of Weyburn. Council approved this lowest tender amount @ $514,450 with a proposed start date September 14.  Click here for more infrastructure projects planned: Budget2020

2020 Recreation Grants - Recognizing the high cost of operating indoor artificial ice facilities, Council awarded the 2020 recreation grants to Communiskate ($15,000.00), town of Balgonie ($30,000.00) and town of Pilot Butte: ($15,000.00) and further approved an operation grant of $4,000.00 for the indoor natural ice facility at the Village of Edenwold. Communiskate was further given a 100% municipal tax abatement to the amount of $13,884.04 and administration was directed to apply to the Ministry of Government Relations for a school tax exemption for Communiskate as well.

Fall election dates and voting information:                                                                                                                                                       Advance poll has been set for Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.                                                                                                 Election Day poll takes place Monday, November 9, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.                                                                                             Voting will take place for Divisions 1,3, 5 & 7, the Reeve and for the rescheduled by-election for Division 4 at the RM municipal office at 100 Hutchence Road in Emerald Park.
During the advance poll and on election day, protocols for cleaning and physical distancing will be in effect, and municipal staff will ensure these rules are respected at all times. The RM municpal office is large enough for voters to be able to socially distance. Barriers and floor signs will further ensure safe distances are kept. More voting information here.
