Commissioner of Oaths

A Commissioner of Oaths is a person authorized to administer and witness the swearing of oaths or solemn affirmations as it relates to affidavits for legal matters. Commissioners may witness declarations, however, they may not certify the truth of the statements contained in a document.

To have a document stamped by a Commissioner of Oaths, a person must be physically present before the Commissioner of Oaths and must prove their identity using photo identification.

The RM does not charge for stamping a document.
