Water/Sewer Quarterly Rates & Infrastructure Fees

Water rates - effective from January 1, 2021     
0 -70 cubic meters are billed at a rate of $1.65 per cubic metre. 
71-300 cubic meters at a rate of $2.07 per cubic meter.
Over 300 cubic meteres at a rate of $3.68 per cubic metre.
A monthly $7.20 water infrastructure fee is added to each utility bill. 
Payment is due upon receipt.  Late payment fees accrue after 45 days.

Sewer rates - effective from January 1, 2021    
Monthly sewer service charge on all residential properties is $45.90.
If you are connected to a central sewer line but not to central water, the supply charge is $55.08.  Commercial/Industrial properties connected to both central sewer and  the central water system billed based on 10 per cent of water usage charged for the billing period, or $45.90 per month whichever is the greater amount. 
A monthly $24.00 wastewater infrastructure fee is added to each utility bill.
Payment is due upon receipt.   Late payment fees accrue after 45 days.

The RM of Edenwold owns and maintains two water wells on the north side of Highway  1, as well as a water treatment plant which supplies water to Emerald Park and other subdivisions. The utility has the capacity to service more than two times the current number of homes and businesses.

Potable Water Fill Station

The potable water fill station is located at 11 Percival Drive in Emerald Park. Water rates are $3.75/cubic metre (220 gallons). Payment can be made at the station by credit card or you can set up a pre-paid account through the RM office. Call us at 306-771-2522 to set yours up.

Water/Sewer Utility Invoices

Water meters are read every three months and ratepayers are invoiced for actual consumption.
Invoices are sent by regular mail or electronically. To receive your invoice and newsletter by email an  EMAIL consent  form can be submitted to the RM office. 

Water and Sewer Utility Payment Options

Cash, cheque or debit are accepted at the RM office. Office hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Cheques can be mailed. Payment by credit card may be made through our website only via "Plastiq" accessed on the right hand side of our Home Page. Payments take three to five business days to process. A Plastiq service fee will be applied (2.85% for credit cards, 1% for debit cards. We cannot accept credit card payments over the phone.

Drinking Water Quality and Compliance

Annual Notice to Consumers

Drinking Water Analysis Test Kits are available at the RM Office for residents who are currently on a private well system. The cost of laboratory fees are dependant on the type of analysis.

Sewer Cleanout Pipes

Sewer clean out pipes are located on your property line. Ensure your pipes have a lid on them. Without a lid the sewer line will freeze. It is not the responsiblity of the RM to thaw it open. Costs incurred to thaw it open are the responsibility of the property owner.
