The Planning and Development Fee Bylaw establishes the fees applicable to various planning applications in accordance with The Planning and Development Act, 2007. The RM undertook a comprehensive review of the fees contained within the current bylaw, with a primary objective of achieving full cost recovery for the processing of each application.

The RM is undertaking a review and update of the Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw. The Official Community Plan (OCP) is the RM’s big-picture plan, guiding decisions on growth and development with key goals and policies, and the Zoning Bylaw puts the OCP into action with detailed rules for land use and property development. On January 1, 2026 the RM launched an online permitting system in which ratepayers, contractors and designers can apply for Development, Building and Approach Permits online easily and without hassle. Additional applications have subsequently been added to the system including Rezoning and Business License applications. Click the link above to learn more.
