Road Closure & Transfer - Richardson

Pursuant to Section 13 of The Municipalities Act, the Council of the R.M. of Edenwold No. 158 gives notice that a road closure request has been received, and the details are as follows: 

The Rural Municipality (RM) of Edenwold has received a request from a property owner to close and sell an undeveloped road parcel at SW 32-16-18-W2 near the unorganized hamlet of Richardson. The proposed closure and sale would transfer to the parcel to the owners of the parcel to the north, Stewart Southern Railway, and is subject to Provincial approval. 

No road surface has been constructed within the parcel, which is held by the Crown in the name of the Province.  The proposed closure and sale would transfer to the parcel to the owners of the parcel to the north, Stewart Southern Railway, and is subject to Provincial approval.

The Public Notice process outlined in the RM’s Public Notice Bylaw allows residents the formal opportunity to comment before Council makes their decision. Prior to rendering a decision on this application, Council will consider all submissions—both written and verbal—at its regular Council meeting, during a Public Hearing on August 25^th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the RM office building, located at 100 Hutchence Road, Emerald Park, Saskatchewan. Any signed letters received by the RM office regarding this proposal will be presented to Council and can be sent by mail, email, or dropped off at the RM Office.

Council will also deliberate / discuss appropriate compensation for the parcel at the Council meeting on August 25^th, 2026.
