Tax relief for all RM of Edenwold residents — due to 2020 pandemic context

May 7, 2020

RM of Edenwold council approved a 15 per cent reduction in 2020 mill rates for all residential, industrial/commercial and agricultural properties at the May 5 council meeting.   “In this current context, we as a council chose to do something meaningful and far-reaching to help everyone in our municipality,” says Reeve Mitchell Huber. “Reducing mill rates is our way of helping.”  RM  taxation information

These reductions are in addition to early tax payment discounts and council's previsous decision (April 14) that no late fees or penalty fees will be charged on utilities for the remainder of the year. The RM Planning department has also helped provide promotion opportunities for local businesses and has updated the existing Economic Development Tax Exemption Policy.

“Fiscally responsible governance ensures we can provide this tax relief and still remain solvent,” explains Chief Administrative Officer Kim McIvor. “We are also going ahead with over three million dollars worth of infrastructure projects this year. We believe in our community and support the Saskatchewan construction industry.”  RM of Edenwold Budget 2020 information
