Community Wellness Classes

This summer, take a moment to slow down, enjoy the season, and focus on your well-being. Thanks to funding provided through a grant from the South East District for Sport, Culture and Recreation, we are excited to offer a series of "Come Try It For Free" Community Wellness Classes designed to help you move, relax, and reconnect with yourself and your community.

Yoga in the Park

Dates: August 8, 15, 22 (Saturdays)

Time: 9:30-10:30am

Location: Kuzmicz Park

Description: Join Pure Living Yoga and the RM of Edenwold for FREE yoga in the park at Kuzmicz Commemorative Park. Summer is busy, let's take a moment to slow down, moving mindfully outdoors. Enjoy an all levels gentle flow class that will leave you feeling lighter in both body and mind. Everyone is welcome!

Soundbath in the Park

Dates: August 20 (Thursday)

Time: 7-8:15pm

Location: Kuzmicz Park

Description: Join Pure Living Yoga and the RM of Edenwold at Kuzmicz Commemorative Park for a FREE Soundbath under the stars. Bathe in the medicinal sounds of crystal bowls, drums, chimes and gong as you restore the body and renew the spirit, while enjoying the outdoors. Sound bath healing is a meditative practice using instruments like crystal singing bowls, metal bowls and gongs to produce deep sound waves and vibrations that promote relaxation, lower stress, and calm the mind. Lie on your mat, under a beautiful SK summer sky, allowing the soundwaves to help bring the body to a relaxed state, while absorbing the vibrations of the instruments, helping to ease tension and quiet the mind.

Slow Running Classes

Dates & Times:

Friday August 21^st at 8am
Sunday August 30^th at 10am
Thursday September 10^th at 7pm
Each class is approximately 45 minutes including warm up and cool down

Location: Meet at Legacy fitness.

Description: Curious about running but not sure where to start? Join us for a free “Try Slow Running” class and discover a fun, approachable way to get moving.

Slow Running is a gentle, low-impact form of running that focuses on moving at a comfortable, conversational pace. There is no pressure to run fast, keep up with others, or push beyond your comfort level. Instead, the focus is on enjoying movement, improving fitness, and building healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

This introductory class is ideal for:

New runners and joggers
Individuals returning to exercise after a break
Older adults
People who find traditional running programs intimidating
Anyone looking for a social and enjoyable way to be active

Whether your goal is to improve your fitness, increase your energy, or simply enjoy being active with others, slow jogging offers a welcoming and supportive environment for all fitness levels.

No experience required. Free to attend. Just wear comfortable clothing, supportive footwear, and come ready to give it a try!

Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunt. Players use their smartphone or a GPS device to locate hidden geocaches or… treasures!

Geocaches are hidden containers that contain a logbook and fun surprises. When players find a geocache, they sign a guestbook and log finds on Geocaching.com to prove they found the geocache.

There were twelve RM of Edenwold geocaches containing treasure, plus each one features unique and interesting facts about the area that you may not have known.

Why should I take part?

Geocaching is popular worldwide and is a great way to discover new locations. Geocaching is a great game to pair with hiking, biking, camping, and other activities for spending time outdoors. It’s also a great way to spend time with friends and family.

What are the treasures I can find?

The knowledge that there might be something special waiting in the geocache for you to find may inspire and feed your curiosity. It could be a gemstone, a key chain, a toy car, or some old coins. And the great part is… you can take the treasure - if you leave some other treasure behind in its place.

How can I take part?

Participants use their smartphone to create an account on geocache.com and use it to navigate to a geocache.

Look up one of the GeoCaching158RM geocache codes (GC), a unique code that identifies a geocache (you will see a list of all twelve geocaches below). Then use this code to find the geocache in the app.

When players find a geocache, they sign a logbook to prove they found the geocache. And be sure to log all your findings on the Geocaching.com website/app too.

Just follow these steps:

Download and install the Geocaching app on your phone.
Open the app and sign up for a free account.
In the app, click on the magnifying glass and select Location - or choose Current Location to show geocaches near your current location. Then, choose a geocache on the map. The other way is to click the magnifying glass, choose Geocache, and enter a GeoCaching158RM GC code for a treasure on the RM of Edenwold course.
Geocaches have a Terrain and Difficulty rating that indicates how difficult it will be to get to a geocache. Easier geocaches have a rating under 2. You can press the Hint button to check some hints about where the geocache could be hidden. You can also check Description, then Attributes to find about any special circumstances of the geocache, and check Activity to find out when geocache was last found, and comments of previous geocachers that might give clues about the geocache. Finally, there may be Photos for additional clues too.
After checking the geocache info… click the Navigate button that will lead you to the geocache destination.
When you arrive at the geocache location, participants can use the previous clues to find the geocache.
When you find the cache - open it! Then log your find on the Geocaching app with your username and the date when you found the geocache.
Success! You have found one of the RM of Edenwold geocaches. Now repeat and find the other eleven!

RM 158 Photo Contest

Celebrating Agriculture in the RM of Edenwold

2026 Rules & Regulations

ELIGIBILITY

All entries must be photographs taken in the RM of Edenwold. The contest is open to all residents of the RM of Edenwold, except for members of staff or council for the RM of Edenwold. This includes their immediate families and cohabitants. The RM of Edenwold reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion.

WHAT PHOTOS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We want to see the RM of Edenwold’s agricultural landscapes celebrated in whatever fashion is meaningful to you. This could mean vibrant colours of crops growing in fields, a celebration of seeding or harvest time, or agricultural producers using precision agriculture technology in the field. The field is wide open.

ENTER FOR THE CHANCE TO WIN PRIZES

Five (5) finalist photos will be selected by RM of Edenwold judges. One (1) grand prize-winning photo will be selected by popular vote from the five finalists between October 19 and October 30, 2026.

Four finalists will receive a $100.00 gift card from a local vendor, with the winning photographer receiving a GRAND PRIZE collection of gift cards valued at $500.00.

WHAT PHOTO FORMAT IS REQUIRED?

Digital photographs: jpeg or .jpg files submitted electronically

Dimensions: at least 2200 pixels wide for horizontal images or 2200 pixels tall for vertical images

File size: 10 MB maximum

Photo must be a high-resolution of at least 300 dpi at 8 x 10 inches

Borders, frames, text, or other graphic treatments are NOT permitted

Content alteration (including combining multiple photos) is NOT permitted

OTHER DATA REQUIRED: Where in the RM of Edenwold the photo(s) were taken (i.e. legal land description, or civic address)

Cropping of photos is permitted, tonal or colour corrections are acceptable. Borders, frames, text, or other graphic treatments are not permitted. The use of artificial intelligence to edit, create, or enhance photos is not permitted. The RM of Edenwold reserves the right to disqualify contestants who are not able to submit, upon request, a high-resolution file of at least 300 dpi at 8 x 10 inches.

WHAT IS THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE?

All entries must be received by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

ENTRIES AND IDENTIFICATION

Photographs entered must not have been previously published. Individuals are permitted to submit up to five (5) entries, but only one from each individual may be selected to move forward in the judging process. Entrants must own all rights to the photographs submitted. As such, entrants hold the RM of Edenwold harmless from any breach of copyright. Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in a magazine or newspaper (except online on a personal social media accounts) are not eligible. Photographs that violate or infringe upon another person's copyright are not eligible. For a photo in which a person is recognizable, a model release is required. 

Model Releases are the responsibility of the entrant and must be presented with the submission of the photo if they include recognizable people. Use the form at the bottom of the page and include in your email entry.

Photographs must have been taken in 2026 in the RM of Edenwold.  The RM of Edenwold holds the right to disqualify entries with inappropriate content. Entries will not be returned.

PUBLICATION

Finalists will be showcased in a gallery display at the next RM 158 Rock n’ Field Day, as well as featured on the RM’s social media pages, website, and upcoming Community Proud newsletters. The RM of Edenwold reserves the non-exclusive right to publish any entry and/or use any entry in promotional materials. Photos published will be credited to the photographer where possible.

DEADLINE

All entries submitted through the contest website must be received before 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

WHEN WILL THE WINNERS BE NOTIFIED?

The 4 finalists and 1 grand prize winner will be notified by 4:00 pm on Monday, November 2nd, 2026. The decisions are made, and the results are final.

The RM of Edenwold cannot be held responsible for entries that are lost, damaged, or delayed during transportation. The RM of Edenwold is not responsible for any failure of the website or email during this contest. Nor is it responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, or any email, online, or internet entry lost due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or property related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion.

With regard to any photograph submitted to this contest, the entrant, or the owner of copyright in the photograph, retains copyright. By submitting any photograph to this contest, the entrant grants (or warrant that the owner of such materials expressly grants) the RM of Edenwold a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any RM of Edenwold purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotional materials, its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to RM publications. Christmas Fireworks & Tree Lighting

The RM of Edenwold hosts an annual Christmas Fireworks & Tree Lighting event on the first Thursday night each December, bringing the area communities together to celebrate the start of the holiday season.

The next event at the RM office takes place on Thursday, December 3rd, 2026, starting at 5pm.

THE SCHEDULE:

- Fire Pits, Marshmallows & Hot Chocolate starting at 5pm
- Santa arrives & Tree Lighting 6pm
- Fireworks 7pm

The highlight of the evening, a spectacular fireworks display, will commence at 7pm, illuminating the winter sky beyond the Emerald Park Fire Hall with a dazzling array of colors.

Come early and keep warm and cozy with hot chocolate while roasting marshmallows over fire pits. Bring your kids, sing along to some classic carols, and soak in the holiday vibes with your friends and neighbors.

Parking will be limited at the RM office and the Fire Hall, so a FREE shuttle bus will be circling around three locations in Emerald Park for drop-offs at the RM office between 5pm to 8pm.

RM 158 Rock n' Field Day

See you again in 2027!

Head to the RM of Edenwold's Rural Shop on Saturday, June 13th, 2026 between 10am and 2pm for the 3rd annual RM 158 Rock n’ Field Day.

There will be lots of fun for all, with a bouncy castle, face painters, cornhole games, Jenga and pet rocks. Plus, check out the RM and Farm Equipment displays.

Featuring live music from the Beachside Romeos starting at 11am

The Reeve and all the Councillors will be serving up FREE hamburgers and hotdogs on the BBQ (with all donations supporting cc Rez Q's YQR Dog Rescue).

Fired Up! Classic Car Show

The next event is: SATURDAY, JULY 18, 2026 - 10am to 3pm

The RM of Edenwold and the Emerald Park Fire Department will be hosting the 4th annual Fired Up! Classic Car Show.

With support from Cargill and the Pilot Butte 46ers, over 200 cars will be on display between the RM office and the Emerald Park Fire Hall. Drop by with the kids and enjoy tours of the fire hall. Vote for your favourite car, truck, or bike and get in on chances to win some cool prizes.

Plus, take in the free BBQ with donations supporting a local charity.

EVENT PARKING UPDATE: The RM office and Emerald Park Fire Hall will be packed with classic cars during the event. Public parking will be allowed on the north side of South Plains and along Hutchence Road on one side only.
