Spring Road Restrictions – Effective March 20, 2026

Road Restrictions in Effect – March 20, 2026

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways has issued a Minister’s Order under Section 35(1) of The Highways and Transportation Act, 1997. As a result, seasonal road restrictions will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, and will remain in place until further notice.

RM of Edenwold – What This Means

Beginning March 20:

  • Seasonal (reduced) road weights are in effect on all RM roads.
  • Loads must be adjusted or broken down to meet restricted seasonal weight limits.
  • Primary weights are not permitted during this period.

Why Restrictions Are Necessary

As frost leaves the ground in spring, the road base becomes soft and unstable. Limiting heavy truck loads:

  • Reduces long‑term damage to road surfaces
  • Helps prevent costly repairs to municipal and provincial roads
  • Keeps roadways safer for all users

These seasonal restrictions help protect the integrity of our transportation network during one of the most vulnerable times of the year.
