Notice of Discretionary Use Application:

Pursuant to Section 55 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, the Council of the R.M. of Edenwold No. 158 gives notice that a discretionary use application has been received and the details are as follows:

 

Discretionary Use Application: Intensive Livestock Operation (ILO)

Intended Discretionary Use: To allow for the gradual expansion of an existing dairy farm ILO from 740 animal units (AU) to 1,775 AU as per Section 5.30 of Zoning Bylaw 2019-20 and all relevant Ministry of Agriculture requirements.

A livestock operation is defined as intensive if the livestock confinement space per animal unit is less than 370 m² (4,000 ft²). The applicant currently operates a dairy farm on the site and has approval for 740 AU. They are proposing an expansion of their infrastructure to eventually accommodate up to 1,500 dairy cows (1,775 AU).


Public Hearing: Council will hold a public hearing to receive submissions, written or verbal, on the discretionary use at 10:00 a.m. (local time) on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in the Council Chambers of the R.M. of Edenwold No.158, 100 Hutchence Road, Emerald Park, Saskatchewan. Written submissions will be presented to Council and can be sent by mail, email or dropped off at the RM Office.
