Discretionary Use - Veterinary Clinic, Type II
When:Pursuant to Section 55 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, the Council of the R.M. of Edenwold No. 158 gives notice that a discretionary use application has been received and the details are as follows:
Discretionary Use Application: Veterinary Clinic, Type II

The Rural Municipality (RM) of Edenwold has received a discretionary use application for the construction of a veterinary clinic within Carson Business Park. As the proposed facility would involve the treatment of both large and small animals and include outdoor pens, it is classified as a Type II Veterinary Clinic.
"Veterinary Clinic, Type II" is defined as a place for the care and treatment of small animals and large animals, including companion animals, livestock, and wildlife, involving outpatient care and medical procedures involving hospitalization. Clinic facilities may consist of indoor and outdoor pens.
In this instance, the proposed facility would serve companion animals as well as equine clients, and includes outdoor paddocks.
Public Hearing
The discretionary use process outlined in The Planning and Development Act, 2007 allows property owners the formal opportunity to comment before Council makes their decision. Prior to rendering a decision on this application, Council will consider all submissions—both written and verbal—at its regular Council meeting, during a Public Hearing on October 27th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the RM Office building, located at 100 Hutchence Road, Emerald Park, Saskatchewan. Any signed letters received by the RM office regarding this proposal will be presented to Council and can be sent by mail, email, or dropped off at the RM Office.
