Civic Addresses

The RM of Edenwold is working with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency to assign civic addresses to all properties in the RM. These addresses are registered on the Civic Address Registry (CAR) system and are available to 911-First Responders during emergencies.

While all existing properties now have been assigned an address, and the majority of signage has been installed, if you are building a home or commercial/industrial building on a previously unoccupied Quarter Section or acreage an address may not yet be assigned. If you do not have an address a Development Officer will work with you at the time of building permit issuance to ensure one is assigned and arrange for the installation of standardized signage.

If you are constructing a garage or secondary suite you may also require a new sub addresses for that suite.

If you are curious about your civic address, please reach out to our office at 306-771-2522.

See the Civic Address Registry FAQ.

Multi-Unit Commercial & Industrial Buildings

If you are constructing a building with more than one unit within or are constructing multiple buildings on a lot with one address, you will need to assign unit and/or building numbers to accompany the primary address.

A Development Officer will contact you about assigning unit numbers at the time of building permit issuance. Each unit number will then need to be posted on the building. If you have multiple buildings on a large lot, you may also wish to consider installing additional directional signage.

Unit and Building Signifiers can take a variety of forms, including:

  • 3 Digit Numbers (101, 102, 201, 202...)
    • Works best for buildings with multiple floors or when multiple buildings are located at one address
    • e.g. 420 - 6 South Plains Road
  • Single Digit Numbers (e.g. 1, 2, 3...)
    • Works best for buildings with less than 10 units, or when multiple single unit buildings are located at one address
  • Letters (A,B,C...)
    • Works best for buildings with less than 10 units, or when multiple single unit buildings are located at one address
    • e.g. 7A Great Plains Road
