Official Community Plan & Zoning Bylaw Review and Update
The RM is undertaking a review and update of the Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw. The Official Community Plan (OCP) is the RM’s big-picture plan, guiding decisions on growth and development with key goals and policies, and the Zoning Bylaw puts the OCP into action with detailed rules for land use and property development.
The current OCP and Zoning Bylaw were adopted by the RM in 2020. The OCP itself stipulates that the Plan shall be subject to a comprehensive review after five years and before ten years from the date of its adoption. While both the OCP and Zoning Bylaw have already been subject to numerous minor additions and updates to their contents in the last five years, the comprehensive review process being undertaken now provides an opportunity to ensure that these documents continue to represent and serve the needs and interests of the community.
